Usage and Consumption Pricing Engineer
Your Team's Impact
FactSet’s Data Solutions organization is seeking a motivated Software Engineer III to join the Usage and Consumption Pricing initiative, an exciting and growing area at the company. This team is responsible for building vital tools to understand client usage, instrumentation of critical applications and infrastructures to source usage data, and pricing calculators that create quotes based on metered usage. This individual must be adaptable to learning and working with a wide breadth of technologies ranging from Big Data ETL and analytics to traditional on-premise Linux server programming.
What You’ll Do
Collect usage data: Create and support usage ingestion APIs; collaborate with internal engineering groups to instrument our APIs into key FactSet infrastructures and applications
Generate usage reports: Design, implement, and maintain a reporting farmework to summarize and deliver summary data to internal sales and strategy groups
Focus on Reliability: Apply multiple styles of testing techniques to deliver reliable software and data to our clients and stakeholders
DevOps: Learn and follow best practices for runtime, on-call support, and deployment procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with peers in different roles on a Scrum/Agile team and communicate with stakeholders regarding demos of delivered projects, status updates, challenges, and obstacles.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
Experience: At least 3 years as a Software Engineer
Software Engineering Fundamentals: Solid understanding of systems design, data structures, and algorithms; as well as a realistic, pragmatic approach, encouraging prototyping and iterative development
Technical Skills in the following areas:
Relational databases such as MSSQL or PostgreSQL
AWS technologies such as S3, Lambda functions, ECS Fargate, EC2, etc.
Python, Java, and REST APIs
Communication and Collaboration Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to:
Understand product goals and explain project status to non-technical peers and stakeholders
Collaborate with our team and other teams to achieve technical goals
Work independently and as part of a distributed team
Desired Skills
Experience working with a Scrum/Agile team
C++, Linux
Big Data products and technologies such as DataBricks, Snowflake, Athena, ETL pipelines, etc.
Infrastructure-as-code (IaC,) especially Terraform
